Despite boasting talented actors, Shibpur falls flat due to its poorly crafted screenplay, weak storyline, and underwhelming conclusion. The potential of its cast is wasted, making the film a disappointing watch.

This movie will not fulfill your expectations even with such talented star cast. There are so many loopholes in this movie. For example:
1. How Mandira (Swastika) built up her own empire as it wasn't shown properly to us.
2. What was the main conflict between Mandira and Tapan (Kharaj)?
3. Nepal Bhattacharya (Rajatava), who is a strong gang leader with manpower and money, yet he got killed very easily.
4. Tapan and Nepal are so scared of Mandira in the end, though they were muchh bigger gangsters than her in terms of both money and manpower.
5. Mandira is portrayed as a badass powerful gangster, but without any gang at all. She hardly had 1-2 people in her gang in the entire movie.
6. Mandira was declared dead, but in the end how did she manage to be a candidate for an upcoming election?
Other than these obvious plot holes, the editing was abrupt and pathetic, the director was literally directionless and the screenplay was horrible too. Even the actors overacted (except Kharaj and Rajatava).
It could have been a bengali Gangs of Wasseypur, but failed miserably throughout its runtime. A total mess up.
