A wonderful throwback to an age when gentlemen pursued game in all its forms. It shows the artificiality of the Protestant/Roman Catholic divide in early 19th century Ireland. A must read for anyone interested in the history of shooting and fishing. The language is a little stilted, but once one gets into its rhythm it's difficult to put down.

Farcical. Completely unresearched, no genuine sources (barring his mysterious co-author "The Spymaster"), no bibliography, but there is an interview with James Bond (previously thought to be a figment of Ian Fleming's imagination. This tome shows the dangers of self-publication. It gets one star because I am unable to give zero. Spend your money on whiskey instead.
