Maus. A wonderful, terrifying account of the holocaust from the author's father. Not only do you get the telling of this very upsetting time in history, but you get the human emotions between a father and son. Not a child's book by no means, but definitely something everyone should read at high school level and up. It is eye opening and keeps you turning the pages until you are done. I finished part 1 and 2 in one sitting, I couldn't stop!
This comic has been around for years and I somehow had not heard about it. That is until the book burning events at the start of this year occured. While I don't condone the burning of books, I am thankful that it was publicised and I took note of this wonderful story I had never heard of. Thank you book burners for buying copies to burn, letting the world know, and stirring my interest in a book called Maus. Without you, I may have missed this truly great piece of art that I will hold near and dear for all of my days.
