Set in an alternate world, this movie didn't have to overly compete with the Avengers movies like others in the past. The story was simple, more character-driven, with well-done visuals. I don't know if everything popped for me because I saw it in 3D, but the promos definitely looked weaker when I saw I saw them on a non-3D screen.

Everybody had one script, while Denzel had another, and neither were very good. I am not sure if the original story was a good one and a bunch of executives tweaked it into a monstrosity, or if it always sucked straight out the gate. I didn't know Denzel gave bad performances, but I also didn't learn about Santa Claus until the 4th grade. When you consider that I grew up in the hood, I was practically a senior citizen. So it could be I am a little slow. Either way, this movie was bad. Like "someone owes me money" bad.

This movie seamlessly flows from the first movie so easily, I have a hard time determining whether it would work as well as an independent feature. As the second part of another/first movie it is excellent. There are moments of humor, conflict and victory (all while ending on a cliffhanger) that grab you the entire run of this 2+hour long movie. I hate that the next movie is likely 2+ years away.

Beyond disappointing. We waited all those years for this? It was marketed as the cornerstone to the next iteration of the DC Universe. The problem, the same one that the Marvel Universe is having, is that the new stuff doesn't compare to what came before. And for DC what came before wasn't that great. See you later Ezra. We hardly knew ya.
