People here feel resistant and confined to just wear a mask for being able to go outside. Imagine you have to hide inside a cell to be safe from both the virus and government? It is a matter of choosing to live with much life quality or choosing to die but with her own dignity. You can say she is being absolute selfish and unreasonable, but knowing everyone (women) is dying around you, being the last woman standing (and hiding) may not be a hopeful circumstance in real life. Humanity is a complex situation and I am glad to see many dynamic layers in the writing
