This movie is fairly accurate about what happens with REO. When I first was licensed 1999, the market turn made foreclosure an easy route for banks, and property value and growth wasnโt like today. The film shows the despair in the faces of people who aare caught with teaser rates, predatory lending and slimy brokers- there were many of the above in my years selling REO.
Today itโs much more fun to help distressed homeowners get out from under their home when itโs financially no longer feasible. Short sales or conventional sales are often the salvo, and foreclosure isnโt as common. Besides who wants to offer cash for keys knowing you have to come back with a sheriff? Pass-
