This movie changed my life!! Dog man was my childhood so this movie touched my soul! The ending had me in tears because it was so deep! After watching it in the theaters I bought for myself straight after and it is all that I have been watching recently. The movie was just like the books and the art and music was spot on. The only thing that I had a problem with was how they made Petey hate lil Petey for example in the books Petey finds the comic book “Papa and Me” he loves it and goes looking for lil Petey but in the movies Petey finds the comic book and crumples it up and he only goes looking for lil Petey when he finds out he’s with Dogman. Also in the books Petey buys little kid furniture and makes lil Petey a cute little bedroom but in the movie Petey makes him sleep on a mop bin in the junk closet. But anyway other than that the movie was perfectly spot on! I even enjoyed the romance between Chief and Sarah Hatoff even though Chief canonically ends up with Nurse Lady. So I love the Dog man movie and I recommend it for anyone who appreciates the books and that could include kids or adults.
