Definitely an interesting take on the Dracula story. I enjoyed how genealogy was incorporated in the story so nice idea there.
The movie starts out okay but it's annoying how easily the character fell for the vampire when money and the possibility of financial freedom seemed at her fingertips. It was very distasteful to show her as a hard-working POC at the beginning but then let that fall through very quickly.
Also, the racism seem very clichรฉ and the movie reminded me of Get Out a little too much, so it lacked originality in my opinion. The premise of the story is good but it was executed poorly, actors did well but the script was lacking and out of touch. When I looked up the writer, I saw why. I doubt the writer related to the experiences of the main character so it makes me wonder about the intention of the work.
I recognized the symbolism at the end, which marked the clash between the classes with the aristocracy and its customs losing which was neat but it's not something I'd watch again.
