one of the best tv shows ever, (except boardwalk empire of course, shhh it's mine you can't have it) VERY grounded, yet imaginative, sneakily special. Strong characters, good acting and quality, relatable, consistent themes throughout the show. It might leave you depressed about how people ACTUALLY live (or die) in such areas.

I struggled to put two stars, (I only did bc of perceived potential of this story) drawn out, a bit boring in the world building department, I honestly cant remember any names of characters none stood out to me, or connected with me, not much humanity to theses characters either, bland underacting, although scenes of potential. GOT it is NOT perhaps in books, but not on screen or at least this wasn't. Was lost a bit throughout needed more backstory to understand who was doing what and why. Listening to youtube reviews of those who read books (and seen other movie) angers me bc there is a REAL story full of twist and turns and world-building I expected to see, I find myself saying "why did they leave that out " multiple times. A one note protagonist who doesn't give you much reason to pull for him, we were just following him through his story with little motive or character, director never heard of character development. It looks good but tbh all that takes is money and time. Plenty of mumbled words, so I had to turn it up pretty loud, how about some humor to bring up the mood to balance it out. Im a harsh judge to be sure, but to see 5 stars on THIS, perhaps this is as good as they wanted it to be, or expected, or just checked their fantasy wishlist nonetheless LOWER you expectations if you have any movie standards. plunge your head into a bucket full of sand and scream that was this movie in a nut shell
