If you want a show with a main character that gets sidelined in the main parts of the plot this is the show for you. See I don't care about all that fps graphics whatever. What matters is the story and plot. The writing leaves much to be desired. For instance, Dolly telling Stanford that he was being a jerk and feeling sorry for himself when he literally lost his opportunity by doing the right thing (that she herself said he'd do) but leaving Ava to feel like she was in the right for insensitively celebrating and then trivialising her friend's massive disappointment right after he got disappointing news sets a terrible example for kids. What a ludicrous display of subpar emotional intelligence. Then they make him apologise for expressing sadness and not wanting to hear his friend trivialising what he was going through because they had good news but she's doesn't have to apologise for her tone-deaf, insensitive actions because she stopped buddy from being taken over? Like really? That counts as a good thing to teach kids? Then hilariously, the only characters advancing the plot in any meaningful ways are Olivia and Maya? Stanford literally becomes an alternate plot point by the time you get to the meat of the show. There's that Netflix-style bait-and-switch again. Is Stanford the prime character or is it Olivia/Maya? If you guys wanted to make a show with a woman as the main character just do that. No need for the subterfuge. Perhaps the friction between olivia and her dad would have made it more interesting. I guess all that mattered were diversity quotas. But speaking of diversity quotas, Latina: Check. Asian man: Check. Asian woman: Check. Black woman: Check. Indian woman: Check. Caucasian male love interest: Check. Black man: ? Latino: ? Indian man: ? I guess that's all Nextflix's standard diversity quota covers when it comes to representation for marginalised people; just the women. Swing and a miss, Netflix.

This is one of the few times I was watching a series where I remarked to myself mid-episode in one episode that "this is really good acting" in reference to Chris Pratt. He made the character of Reece, the competent military commander who is light-hearted with his friends and family very realistic and relatable. Reece wasn't perfect and wasn't trying to be. He just wanted revenge for his team and family and he tried to stick to his list in doing that. No pointless, swashbuckling bravado (like the Rocks, Wahlbergs, and Stathams) but just a realisitic focus on his goal. Chris communicated that immaculately and the high Imdb rating proves it. Ignore any naysayers, this was a fine tv-show with realistic depth. Chris Pratt seriously has range as an actor from Comedy (Parks & Rec) to Action-Comedy esque movies (GOTG and Jurassic Park) to more serious roles (The Terminal List & Zero Dark Thirty). Truly a good actor and a well-scripted show.

Season 2 was utter trash. Such a terribly written show. Starting with the worst character of the trio of Taylor, Hayley and Mei; none other than Hayley. Netflix wants us to pretend that Hayley's foolish and selfish prioritization of Boy was not what caused the death of her mom and others? Seriously, her actions made Shane's sacrifice pointless. Like her selfishness caused all this yet no one held her accountable but when Taylor prioritized ALL of their safety by giving Boy away, he's apparently the bad guy? Typical poor Netflix portrayal of men. To her, it was as if no one else mattered as long as boy was fine. Not her mom. Not her brother who prioritised her safety. Not Loa. Not Mei. Those characters died and she was sad for a minute but oh well, "Boy!" and was fine minutes later. Such a trashy character. Then Loa says Hayley was the heart of the trip. Like wuuuuut? She was the reason they got into most of their precarious situations, didn't own up her mistakes, didn't responsibility and think about others than herself. But yeah, heart of the trip. Throughout season 1&2, all she did was exhibit selfishness and throw tantrums but apparently Netflix's lesson here is that self-centeredness will be rewarded. Onto Taylor, how did Netflix write a main male character so weak and directionless then have the guts to add in that he had grown and owned up to his mistakes when 80% of the mistakes was due to Hayley and the two adults, He and Mei's apparent lack of the drive to tell that Hayley to shut up and do the right thing. All Hayley did was whine and complain about Boy's safety not being prioritized more. She dared to say she didn't trust her brother when he prevented her from becoming like their mother at the sisterhood. Netflix had the opportunity to do a good job but instead took characters with potential and completely upended them.

Jexi has to be the most poorly written film I've seen in a while. A paltry "Her" wannabe. Who feels like they've had amazing times with someone after only 2 days? The pacing is poor and the character experiences lack depth. How do you go from telling someone to not stalk you to giving them your number the very next day? Yikes. Soooo much was wrong with the movie that I don't even have time to write anymore. Eeesh.

For a 4 hour movie, recycled footage from BvS is a no-no. Also, consistency? Why is Mera's accent British? Wasn't it American in Aquaman? Why does Snyder need 4 hours to do a re-telling of 60% of Whedon's theatrical cut? Also, why does Snyder love using so much slow-mo in his movies? Furthermore, what is with the melancholic music everytime the camera cuts to Wonder woman. It was okay the first time. By the 5th time, I was tired.

Wait...apparently, this was the end of the Skywalker saga? Save your money. The infinity saga was better. This is by far the most poorly written and forgettable star wars movie ever created. Abandoning plot threads from the prequels and throwing in a kiss with very little to no foreshadowing. Super underwhelming. The Force awakens and The last Jedi had some coherence. This movie is completely incohesive with regards to the first two. Why throw in a kiss with 0 indication, 0 foreshadowing of romantic interest, then kill him and have Rey show no emotion or distraughtness to that death. Foolishness. Also, wasn't Leia's saber supposed to be green? How on earth did she get to best Luke in a swordfight? A lot of stuff was pulled out from left-field. A boring,sordid, messy cash grab by Disney to say the least. I bet they're paying off reviewers to give it rave reviews.
