Heavy subject material and interesting plot, handled in a really ham-handed way. The author made a habit to “tell, not show” the reader information, which made the story feel spoon fed. The character wasn’t very likable, and I found her growth arc to be disingenuous.
I must say that every other person I know, and my entire bookclub disagrees with me.
