Extraordinary film. Passionate, authentic performances. Two damaged, headstrong uncompromising women - both talented pianists - are drawn into an uneasy truce to achieve a goal. The film's conflict develops or rather deflates temporarily after the initial meeting where we learn that these two are opposites. One such point of contrast is the stark difference between what each woman will sacrifice to save a lover. I was riveted throughout this film. It is unforgettable.

Subtle, powerful film where you have to work at understanding the subtext. The fine balance in the wives' relationships between sisterhood and rivalry was insightfully handled.

Sensitively written and directed film which deals with romance in old age and the effect of life-legacy on that romance. A distinct contrast is drawn between those who let go of past failings and those who weaponise them. The film is also a thought provoking study of human selfishness. The acting is superb and subtle.
