The story itself is great. Very emotional especially toward the end. Very few books or movies can get me teared up anymore, so it was nice to feel something. On the other hand, the utter disregard for punctuation in this book made it very difficult to read. I almost gave up on it several times. I felt like I was reading it with highway hypnosis.

I read all 5 books in this series. Couldn't put them down. So deep, symbolic, and engaging. Wonderful depth to the characters. Very inspiring. Not predictable. Lots of action. Very original. Description is phenomenal. Loved the action; never boring. The whispering room concept was brilliant. Ending of the last book was perfect. The metaphor of the mind control devices is in some ways very reflective of what you see in real life. Jane and her friends are lovely characters. Can't wait to read more of Dean Koontz's books! These were the first of his that I've read and I'm absolutely looking forward to more. If you need an engaging, deep read that will make you really think hard about life, books that you just can't put down, i highly recommend this series. I would love to see them as movies someday.
