I really loved it. I thoroughly appreciated the Latinx casting and the complete lack of brown face. I truly don't understand how anyone could find this remake offensive. It also boggles my mind that so many people would leave in the middle of it (2 people left when I was seeing it today). The original had its high points and the current one has its disappointing moments - sure - but at least Spielberg and the people he was working with chose to appropriately cast the Puerto Rican characters and skipped the brown face.
