this movie was so damn good. I never ever write reviews, but i just left the theater and I am shocked. I am not a huge fan of seeing horror movies in theaters, as nowadays they are just cash grabs and almost never even close to scary or entertaining in the least bit. HOWEVER....this movie had me covering my eyes (and screaming a few times..sorry lol) so often!! I was giddily anxious throughout and, while this movie felt ten years long, there was not a single moment that bored me. The characters were dumb in the stereotypical horror movie way, but it was so satisfying to see characters believing each other and realistically working together to figure out what the hell was happening. I was super impressed to see an intriguing and unique conflict, how it all played out, and the craziness of the build up --> reveal. the gore was awesome, and the creepy dream sequences were fantastic. there were also some funny bits, which gave me a nice break from the fact that the main kid was getting insanely traumatized as the seconds ticked by. I loved watching the storylines connect and create a plausible explanation, and how the audience gets to figure it out with the characters. overall 12/10 movie!!!! I absolutely recommend!

wasted 2 hours of my life on this and i regret ever giving this seemingly original movie a try. trust me, every time you think it's going to get better, it doesn't. everyone in this movie was so stupid i had to stand up and walk around every few minutes to keep from turning it off. I can't believe how many amazing actors i watched waste their time on this absurdly paced production, it actually had more plotholes than a freaking indiana road. whoever supervised production, find a new career for the sake of future television and entertainment. 12 Angry Men did it first and did it better.

do not be discouraged by the freaks who dont like musicals!!! i genuinely was shocked by the insanely negative reviews on this movie??? unfortunately tiktok lead me to go into the theater thinking it was going to suck. however, i personally ended up liking this movie more than the original, and dare i say the musical. this movie was a masterpiece of a film and it was silly and campy in all the right places. anyone who is bashing the music saying it was "random" and "not in the right places" i get it. but...have you ever seen a musical....? imagine going as far as WALKING OUT on this iconic movie? sorry you dont like music or something. why does something meant to be theatrical (literally a movie, do you want them to act or not?) have to be seen as an abomination simply because renee rapp isnt a size 0 and uses cheaper makeup, and the fact that there is occasional dancing. calm your t1ts pls. why would you let yourself be miserable bc the trailer didnt say the characters were going to sing. its not even like the movie was any different from the og...the plot and characters were identical and it was perfectly combined with the FIRE musical. yes karen was over-dumbed, yes there where some good songs left out, and yes aaron looked stupid the entire movie, and YES angourie could have acted a little more during her songs. BUT!!!!!!!!! i loved it and anyone who hates it simply because it had more music than their shriveled brains can handle should kindly delete their review and move on. i loved this movie and i think you should go see it :)

SPOILERS AHEAD ---> i have a really hard time connecting with movies usually (and i watch a LOT of movies), but i cannot stop thinking about this one!!! i adore the portrayal of every single one of the characters (except for christine, i feel she was a little bit too over-the-top ditzy...) but i was totally giggling and kicking my feet at the unexpected, new, and incredibly sweet romance of the two main characters...until she went to his real house. my heart was literally ripped to shreds when it didnt turn out to be a misdirection for honors sake, but for micheals own benefit. its definitely been a while since i experienced something so unexpected!! i will admit, i was really upset because i usually only go for a movie/show/book if it is based solely around romance, but towards the end after it being hinted throughout the movie that honor was unintentionally helping her enemies (and later becoming their friends and creating the new fruity 4), i was so giddy and i realized that maybe romance isnt for everyone, and sometimes there really is a time for certain things. when honor totally screwed micheal over at the end by forcing the guidance counselor to recommend kennady instead, i was much happier than i probably would've been if the predictable ending had been gone through with (micheal and honor heading to harvard together, because we all know he didnt need that scholarship) anyways this was an AMAZING movie and im glad we arent sleeping on gaten anymore 😭 the whole movie i was totally torn on who was the cutest main character lmaooo
