An absolute disgrace. One would think that with 1 billion dollars decent actors and SFX producers could be hired. The lack of attention to detail and obliviousness to the character and seriousness Tolkien formed his world with is insulting.
It is common knowledge that Galadriel had little part in the wars and skirmishes of the elves in the second age. This is a distinct straying from the Galadriel seen in LOTR and The Silmarillion. The Extra casting is atrocious! Additionally, when did orcs care for families or peace, they are servants of Morgoth, created by Morgoth as a corruption of the purity of elves, they are as inclined to evil and mischief as the elves are to good.
Furthermore, Souron is a spirit, not bound to human or physical form. He is a Maiar, and not to be likely killed by a bunch of orcs who stab him in the back. He is the great shapeshifter, and righthand of Morgoth, the most powerful of all the Valar.
Anyone who thinks this movie is good is a mindless child who does nothing but what others tell them. The producers seem to not believe that a character needs real conversation and development. Look at GOT, some of the best character development in the TV Industry. all the conversations in this show are empty and meaningless. Where is the seriousness, where are the legions, where is the pride and honor in the race of Numenor? Also, the Eagles are talking beasts! What was that?! That is not in the character of an eagle. They have been counseling and watching the world for an age and an age. They flew Hurin and Huor to Gondolin! And hobbits aren't hippies! Good lord! Middle Earth is an imitation of our world, the West is the West, the East is the East and the South is the South, and the respective races are so. Just like in REALITY.
The Istari (wizards) were not sent hurtling senseless into a Crater, they were sent together, all five. Their power is not in their staff but in their spirits as gods themselves! Would Melian, wife of Elwe, be so dรฉpendent?
This whole show is to show how mindless and lolling these people who strive to run one of the greatest novels into the dire.
