Among the first movies made from a graphic novel, and a Japanese one at that, this movie is loopy, wild, and superb. Great actors doing deadpan satire, hilarious details and references, and all kinds of fun layers keep the movie fresh no matter how many times you view it. For brainiacs, nerds, science fiction aficionados, lovers of comedy, and pretty much anyone who enjoys watching Lithgow chew the scenery with brilliant, poised camp, it's a movie to cherish.

In Time is local history done right. Good sentences report concisely what happened in 1865 in the Croyle Township, Summerhill, Ebensburg, and Johnstown, Pennsylvania area, just after the Civil War, on an isolated farm not far from Pittsburgh. Cambria Countyโs sensational murder trial drew attention from everywhere as two men declared innocence but were declared guilty. Was justice served?
It is an intriguing, intricate tale, told plainly with detailed research throughout. While not a thriller, it holds the readerโs attention and is presented in a way that brings the era to life. This pamphlet-sized book has much to teach heavier tomes of history by more famous writers. Itโs recommended as history, as true crime, and as a study in human beings.
