that was the first time when Kyaโs dad talked with her while eating dinner.Ever since she was born, her mother and brothers being beaten by her father became a regular routine. Her father was a victim of the II World War and thus her family became a victim of him.
The story began in 1952 following the daily lives of Kya,a six years old girl, whose mother left home in the same year, following her,her elder brothers and sisters also left, leaving her alone in home,an old house in marsh disconnected from city and society,to escape the inhuman torture of her father. Her father was out home almost all the time playing poker and after some year,he didnโt come home anymore. She became all alone in a gigantic marsh. But despite her family left her, nature took her as a child, she grew older under her shadow.
Though she canโt read, canโt count upto 29,she became a marsh specialist, knowing a to z about marsh, insects, gulls, tidesโฆShe was disconnected from society, she became friendlier with the saleswoman, with Jumpings who sold her oil for her boat and other necessaries, she had a bunch of well wishers, specially Tate, her first love, who taught her the basics about how to read, write.
The story progressed in two different timelines. When one was 1952,other was 1969,where Chase Andrew,a rich young of Kyaโs age was dead.As the story advances in the timeline of โ52,a little thread of connection became larger, coming to a jaw breaking end, connecting both times perfectly from tip to toe.
โYou came again,
Blinding my eyes
Like the shimmer of sun upon the sea.
Just as I feel free
The moon casts your face upon the sill.
Each time I forget you
Your eyes haunt my heart and it falls still.
And so farewell
Until the next time you come
Until at last I do not see you.โ
