Amusing that people hate this series as the ending is not a Hallmark fantasy. My husband and I have worked in this system for years and this is just how it is. This story is raw and bleak and unfair...which is how these situations often turn out. Sarah Lancashire is one of the best actresses around, we are so glad she portrayed this tragic story with her usual outstanding skill and empathy.
