I have been a longtime MEGA Batfan, and I waited patiently for this film for 3 years. And believe me, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. I should've posted this review a month ago when I actually saw it, and don't know why I didn't.
"The Batman" was a masterpiece. It was a phenomenon. In fact, those words aren't even good enough to describe it. Robert Battinson's performance surpassed everything I had ever expected, and he hooked me into his world via his grandmaster manipulation of the dialogue he was provided with. The opening scene especially proved he was more than capable of taking on this role.
Paul Dano did an outstanding job playing an unhinged, disturbed version of Ed Nashton/Riddler, and was legitimately scary. Everything he did had a meanimg and a point, and it all climaxed in one of (if not the) best, most beautiful, and well executed movie finales in all of cinema history.
Zoรซ Kravtiz was amazing, and she is quickly on her way to becoming my favourite Catwoman. Her character was very well fleshed out, and Zoรซ embraced the role of Selina in a captivating way. And her relationship with Bruce was dead-on.
Colin Farrell was unrecognisable. Jeffrey Wright knew what he was doing. John Tuturro IS Carmine Falcone.
It's the type of movie that continues to surpass your expectations with every second, and it is the Batman film we've been waiting for: Dark, gritty, psychological, and downright terrifying with top-knotch acting and outstanding cinematography.
No complaints at all.
