Never read the book but now I want to read it after seeing the series. It was a well-crafted look at post partition India through a double lens of the the intertwined lives of Lata and Maan. I don't know why the reviewers did not rave about it. It has been 32 years since I spent 3 months back-packing around the sub-continent. Now, I am yearning to return. This story touched on some hot-button topics that have loomed over India even in these modern times and was executed very skillfully without getting confusing. Well done.
