I'm a Si-Fi / Fantasy lover and would not normally go and see a movie like Belfast. With a Catholic Wife of Irish heritage however, the choice was a given. I have seen so many movies that gain 8, 10, 12 or more nominations at awards events, and after seeing them, fail to understand how they gained half the nominations they received.
Belfast is one of the first movies I can ever recall watching that I believe will deserve every nomination and award it receives and then some. It is so strong and relevant on every level, and there is not a single member of the cast, yes - including Colin Morgan as Billy Clanton (the bad guy), who's performances were outstanding and deserves an award.
No matter what your preferred genre of movie is, Belfast is a must see and no one will be disappointed as they leave the cinema.
