It's a sad, sad production. With big budget like Disney it still delivers a certain level of quality, but other then that, there's nothing about the movie, that can capture attention. Ariel by Hallie Bailey looks boring, her moves are either pretentious wavy arms or pitiful copies of Ariel's cartoon character moves. She didn't put a single thought into developing her own version of Ariel, which makes her lead role flat and unbelievable. The way she checks prince Eric's heartbeat... Yawn. And prince Eric is completely out of the story. Him singing after being rescued looks like he's got beer hangover. And why he looks so old? At least 35 or whatever. Isn't he supposed to be like in early 20ies? Sad.
Screenplay is either copypaste of the original shots or meaningless, humorless and thoughtless dialogues of the secondary characters. Cinematography is a sad attempt to turn beautiful 2d drawing of the original movie into... what? I don't know.
Singing is good though. At least they didn't spoil the songs.
