This book is an excellent account of today’s unprovoked war on independent, democratic Ukraine by Russia. It is composed of 20 stories that are each based in on-the-ground interviews, with everyday people who have been affected by the vicious attack from the north, east, and south in February 2022 to this day. Many Ukrainians have suffered one tragedy after another to protect their lives and that of their family and community. The book unfolds the daily sacrifices Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers make. It is a riveting read, and especially timely as the US elects an autocratic leader in Donald Trump and by obvious extension his new henchman Elon Musk.
