I really love this show! I spent two years in Hawaii to get my master's degree, and I really appreciate the effort in this show to show Hawaii and the north shore area in particular in a more honest light. The B-roll footage in particular highlighting local signs protesting more hotels and local people going about their business instead of opting for only shooting resorts/general nature shots feels more authentic to the area. I appreciate that Polynesian and Kanaka actors are playing crucial roles and aren't there to be the "token Hawaiian" like other shows set on the islands. Also, the rescue situations in this show are real and believable and highlight the power of the ocean and how people should be appropriately cautious and respectful when vacationing and even as locals. All in all, this is my favorite show that I've seen set in Hawaii, and I really hope they continue it!
