There is no reason for this film to exist, and it shouldn't.
Instead of an inspired piece of crime fiction, such as the likes of Finchers se7en, which Reeves had apparently drawn inspiration from, the film is a shallow mix of a bad Max Payne voice over, and a midday straight to tv version of se7en and law abiding citizen. It ends up being neither a crime thriller nor a superhero movie, stuck in some abysmal abyss somewhere in between.
It's simply a swing and a miss. Three hours was an indulgent treat for Reeves and the cast but not for the movie goer. Perhaps you should go and see this movie, because it is a movie you probably won't want to watch ever again. A true struggle, exhausting and ultimately disapointing. In fairness, I did relate to Robert Pattinson, as just like the main hero during filming, I did not want to be there either.
