This was an excellently written story.
However,I thought that Fred MacMurray"s acting was a little forced and over-played as a dark character.
But for an actor who usually plays the token nice guy,I thought he did a pretty good job.
I felt that Barbara Stanwyck was rather too cosmetic in her role: And too predictably evil.
Edward G Robinson was stellar ( as he always is in movies) in his role as an investigative insurance man.
This story was an excellent portrayal of how obsession can lead one to do unthinkable evil and criminal acts.
It was quite entertaining, because of Ihe story line, and well worth watching.
I give it a 3 out of 5.
