Itโs meh, ok at best, yet slightly below middle of the road.
Lots of glaring issues:
-Performance is one, regardless of the system you have (and it doesnโt look good enough to justify the poor performance).
The checkpoint system is rough and because of the rubbish stealth system you find yourself replaying sections over and over.
-Usual Ubisoft world (both good and bad elements) but does feel very empty much like avatar (they want you to just look at the scenery). This game is also NOT open world as marketed, itโs more like starfieldโs โtilesโ.
-Bugs are definitely an issue, invisible walls being a frequent one or falling through the world on the speeder.
-It feels very PG 13 - you are a scoundrel but cannot really engage in scoundrel activity unless itโs a Robin Hood scenario.
-There are unkillable creatures in the world - again it feels like a kid gloves sort of thing. You feel restricted in how you can play - was this Disneyโs influence?
-Feels bland and half baked. If you stripped the Star Wars title from the game, I donโt think many people would have bought it.
-Stealth - the system is broken, but I donโt like this is the only option to progress in large sections of the game. Maybe thatโs my fault for thinking weโd have a choice of how we play the game.
-Disappointing. They should have given the game/license to another studio, but in todayโs age where even Bethesda is now shovelling garbage, Iโm not sure who would do a good job.
-Price - I wouldnโt mind paying a higher price for a solid game, I do object to paying a high price for a mediocre one; it feels cheeky.
-The gun system where you can only carry one gun is stupid, why bother to let us pick up and other weapons if they canโt be kept even for a while - ladder? Drop gun. Vent? Drop gun. Slight climb? Drop gun.
-Itโs not the worst game ever made like some people are saying but itโs not great, nor will it be a runaway success. There definitely wonโt be a sequel and unfortunately it will put other devs off from making a good open world Star Wars game because they will think there isnโt the appetite for one. Maybe playing RDR2 recently with the depth of that world vs this one makes it seem worse? Not sure ๐ค
Maybe we all need a break from empty โopen worldโ titles, particularly the Ubisoft ones! Iโve been burned on Avatar and now this ๐
