Highly recommend. Stellar acting. Stellar movie. Loved it! Very poignant. And to finish it off a powerful end-title track by Lauren Daigle. Superb!
Ignore the negative Karen's and their low ratings; says a lot about them, not the film!
As for Detreichs descendants -- sounds like they are far leftists. Cringe. Talk about inaccurate twisting of the truth, false claims and demonizing a perfectly good film. Fancy the descendants making this about the current US politics and putting Nationalism in a negative light. So typical of ignorant snowflake lefties ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Ftr; My great grandfather Horonuku; going back many generations ago, a great Paramount Chief, was a Nationalist. Yup, a brown man, a Maori. So yeah, Nationalism is not racist white supremacy! Only illeducated misinformed ignoramuses would believe such a thing.
Ftr; My ancestor Horonuku te Heuheu Tukino IV, a paramount chief of the Ngฤti Tuwharetoa iwi, gifted Mount Ruapehu, along with Mount Ngauruhoe and Mount Tongariro, to the Crown in 1887 to preserve them as a national park, fearing the loss of their mana if the land went through the Mฤori Land Court. When Mฤori chiefs gifted land, it often meant the recipient gained the right to use the land, rather than outright ownership, emphasizing a reciprocal relationship and shared responsibility, not a transfer of full dominion.
