I have a pretty specific type of horror I like and this isn't it. I watched the original and thought it was pretty dull aside from a certain chainsaw scene. I dared to hope that this one would be better as some people at work were talking about it positively. Unfortunately I found it just as boring if not moreso. 2 hours of gore porn with nothing of note to any of it. There was a dream sequence that I thought was alright but most of it felt like shock value. We're given hints about this father character that ultimately leads to nothing in the end except some magical mcguffin that's not explained. They drag out the end scene so long and you know it's not going to end until the mcguffin is in the picture so I'm sitting there waiting for them to get on with it already. And then of course an after credits scene to leave it open for a third one. If you want people getting their faces smashed in give it a shot I guess but I want something a bit deeper.
