I disagree with a lot of these reviews. It's an OK game, but not the best. Some levels are laughably easy, while others are beyond insanely hard. I play red alert 2 on brutal, and in skirmish mode I'll put 7 brutal enemies on a team together and take them on, but this game just frustrates me. Some levels are really fun, and the brutal levels can be a little fun when playing on easy mode, but anybody who can beat this game on hard needs a life. Nobody should be so good at any game ever that the level of difficulty in this game would be justified. I know it isn't fun if you just beat it without a challenge, but the computer is not bound by available resources, which is a pretty big problem.
Things to note:
1) You need about twice as much resources as the game gives you for it to at least be reasonable.
2) The crane should be able to construct all buildings, including defenses. I would love to hear the developers logic (or absolute lack thereof) for why it doesn't.
3) When you tell units to move, they should do it, not just ignore it.
4) The computer doesn't seem to be bound by the fog of war. It always seems to know exactly where your units are and which units it needs to completely wipe out your whole army while you're busy trying to keep your defenses alive due to a somehow constant flow of attackers.
5) I found the storyline mediocre at best, and the acting was atrocious.
Like I said, I normally play war games like C&C and Empire Earth on brutal mode, but I couldn't get through it on normal mode. It may not be fun to just win all the time, but it is even less fun to just get whooped on what should be a challenging but far from overbearing difficulty setting. I also just read that the updated the game and made the resource collectors only worth half as much when full and made the crane not be able to build defenses, which I actually mentioned above, so it seems they made it right in the first place, then when back to ruin it a little bit later on, so great job there. Again, absolute lack of logic.
