Back in 2005 I loved the game but over the years I started to scoff at it because it took resident evil in the non survival horror genre, in favor of more action and I wanted more games like 1 and 2 originals. The remakes started to happen and resident evil was having a resurgence in horror thanks to re7. We knew it was only a matter of until re4 got remade. Some say it didnโt need it. But it was gonna happen because the game always sold so well. Now the other remakes were okay but they werenโt fully faithful to the originalโs. With re4 coming out I knew they werenโt gonna mess it up. They took what they learned from re2 remake and re7. Even village which I still say only got made so they can use itโs assets. So re4 trailers and gameplay dropped and it was everything I wanted. The action was there but itโs so much scarier now. The atmosphere is incredible. Set designs bigger and more detail. Characters have more weight to them. Ashley seemingly one of the worst parts of the original is so much fun here. Leon and Ashley chemistry in this remake is much better. Monsters boss fights are so much fun to engage in. Playing on hardcore my first playthrough gave me vibes of survival horror because I was barely surviving on very little items. Lol everything seems to be better even adding side quests and more puzzles In the game. And if you need a break from the main story try out the shooting range. Itโs so much fun. You even get prizes and can add bonus to help you in your fight against the plagas. This is easily capcom best remake because they kept the core game but just turned everything up to 11. Dead space now re4. They mightโve just set the standard once again for remakes. Suffice to say I will be playing more of this game. And with mercenaries on its way along with more dlc in the future. This game will get lots more love.
