I can't comprehend how anyone could find enjoyment in this show, especially if you have any love for the Jackson trilogy or Tolkien's original work. Beyond that even just going off it's own merit, pretending it's not related to Tolkien at all, it's DREADFUL. My goodness, "the sea is always right", unbelievable cringe dialogue. Rocks sink and ships float, because one looks up and one looks down???
My stepmom who watches the WORST b rated movies and has a blast with just about any media literally begged me to not make her watch episode 3 and on. She was so bored in the first two episodes, the least critical of shows person I know and easiest entertained, that she could not continue watching. Nothing in this show grips you, it's just mystery boxes and minor quest "and then this happens" storytelling.
The main character Galadriel is the most insufferable, spiteful, unlikeable protagonist I have ever seen. She's as rough as the gal from Forspoken, and that's saying A LOT. Even as it's own show, which it isn't, this is one of the worst things I've ever seen. I love fantasy, but this is embarrassing, rivaling Witcher blood origins in terms of quality. Full of contrivances, plot holes, lack of scope in land mass, nonsensical decision making, inconsistence characters, and the worst dialogue in recent years for something this well funded.
If you have even a minor grasp on Tolkien, or loved the Peter Jackson trilogy, this is a travesty. If you are someone who somehow liked this show, I would like to discuss with you what was to like about it, because I'm genuinely at a loss. How has quality fallen this far, with this much money to boot!?
