Satchel Strout

This was not a bad show, but it was definitely my least favorite of the MCU shows. I get that having an original character show can be a hit or miss, but this was overall good not great. Oscar Isaac did great as the protagonist. His acting skills were amazing, and I have nothing but good things to say about his complex character. I thought Harrow was a decent villain. I also enjoyed the tie in with Egyptian mythology. The best moments of the series were in Episode 4 when it felt like Marvel and Indiana Jones had a baby. I wish that Layla was in the series more, but hopefully they will explore her role in the future. The plot is kind of weak and depressing. Overall it is no where near being great but still worth a watch.

Black Panther is the best movie in the MCU. Black Panther has the best plot, characters, culture, and action sequences. Every second of this film is jaw dropping. Chadwick Boseman does great as T’Challa, and of course his performance is one to remember, but he isn’t the only one who shines. Michael B Jordan shines as Erik Killmonger. He is scary, murderous, and yet he is sympathetic. The other characters that come to my mind are three strong female characters in Okoye, Nakia, and Shuri. They are all strong, independent, and loyal to Wakanda. There are so many good fights in the film, and it is more than just a superhero film. It is a step forward in filmmaking and the MCU. I’m very excited to see what happens in the sequel and how they will deal with Boseman’s death.

Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was truly a masterpiece. It’s good to have a culture centered MCU movie. Every element of the movie was done to perfection. Asian culture was honored with the dragons and the ancestral paintings of deceased loved ones. The characters are amazing. Shang Chi is a complex and sympathetic protagonist. Wenwu is a compelling villain who is lethal, dangerous, and somehow he’s sympathetic similarly to Erik Killmonger from Black Panther. Both movies are culture centered and are some of the best from the MCU. Katy also deserves a shoutout. Awkwafina shines in this movie as Katy. Shang Chi’s sister is another complex character who is very good at martial arts. The action sequences are incredible. There are so many epic action sequences that this is a amazing MCU film. Without a doubt one of the best films Marvel has made. I love how Marvel is making more culture centered movies, and I hope that Marvel makes a film that showcases Hispanic culture soon.

Whether in sitcom form or traditional form, WandaVision was a delight to watch. Elizabeth Olsen did an incredible job as Wanda, and all of the characters and plot lines were truly incredible and kept viewers on the edge of their seats. Not only is this the best of the MCU shows, it is one of the best shows period. The show explores themes of grief, powers, and family. WandaVision makes people cry, laugh, and is easily one of the best things Marvel Studios has done.

I loved this Marvel show. The characters, morals, action, and storytelling was all excellent. First of all, I am very happy that San Wilson got the shield. He was a good side character, but he did incredible as a leading man. He was likable, and didn’t have some of the moral flaws that many other superheroes had. Him and Bucky both did great in this show. I loved the other Captain America, and the highlight of the show was when he got frustrated and fought Falcon. This is a very close second in the MCU shows on Disney+ to WandaVision.

Loki is an amazing show. It’s probably my least favorite of the MCU Disney+ Shows, but that’s not saying much. They’ve all been great. There were elements of crime, action, science fiction, and romance. The characters of Loki, Sylvie, Mobius, and Ravonna were all complex and great. The only reason I wouldn’t give five stars would be that the plot was hard to follow at times, and a lot of information was thrown at the viewers. The other thing was that there wasn’t one main villain of the story until the last twenty minutes. Ravonna was a great villain, but I almost wish she would’ve been the main antagonist instead of just being a side role. Loki and Mobius had a lot of chemistry on the screen, and their reactions were hilarious. Loki and Sylvie also had a lot of chemistry. The ending left me excited for a second season!

I loved this movie! As a Hispanic, I loved how Colombia was showcased in this movie. I thought the characters were all good and relatable. My only complaint was that the supporting characters were not developed enough. Both Isabella and Luisa should’ve got much more screen time besides their one song. The music is some of Disney’s best. They are catchy, energetic, and so much fun. Mirabel was a great heroine who was so much more relatable and flawed than Disney’s usual heroines. I loved all the family messages, and the show stopping songs like We Don’t Talk About Bruno, Under The Surface, Colombia mi Encanto, and more. The scenery was beautiful and I wished that the movie was longer. Overall a great movie with some of the best messages and I hope there’s a sequel.
