Just watched it and want to point out how the writers not only screwed the whole movie but the idea of Captain America himself. Captain America was my favourite marvel character to the moment Steve went back in end game and the character ended there. A perfect ending.
What does Captain America represent? America only? No he represents freedom and justice, he represents standing up and never backing down (โI can do this all dayโ). In this movie however, the โcaptain americaโ goes against all the values that made him Captain America in the first place. He (Sam) sides with Ross the very same person who Steve rogers fought against in civil war, the very same person who put Sam in jail, the very same person who wanted the avengers on government watch. And who sides with him? Who agrees for Captain America to become a government asset to be moved around to do governments dirty work? Correct, Sam the guy who fought with Steve Rogers against him in civil war. Itโs as if the writers didnโt even watch Civil War. What was the point of fighting against Ross if in the end Sam wanted to become a government asset? Not even one person in the production of this multi million dollars movie asked this question? And then he acts hurt when Ross turns him down like who wouldโve thought? Captain America wouldnโt have had asked Ross to โsay the wordโ to engage the enemy in that carrier. Captain America wouldnโt have said yes to becoming a government asset to do governments work (literally the whole lore of Civil War). But in this movie Sam the new โCaptain Americaโ does the exact things Steve rogers the real Captain America would stand against it. How do you expect us to accept him as โCaptain Americaโ when heโs exactly what Captain America is not.
Donโt get me wrong, Samโs actor is a great actor and this movie has got very good castings but the problem is in the script. For racist allegations, if Captain America was Bucky and the script was the same I would be saying the same because the script doesnโt make sense at all and is a disgrace on Captain Americas legacy. The actor is really doing a good job but the script is very much not.
Then there are some very illogical immersion breaking stuff in the film. Youโve got Sam and his wing man driving to Camp Echo while they couldโve just fly there? Why didnโt he take his armour and suit and just took his shield while infiltrating a military base? Plus in the next scene how fast were falcon and his wingman and the lady agent going that they got to the Pacific Ocean in no time? Couldnโt have they done that to get to camp echo? Why did the buyer (Gus fring) ambushed falcon with no other men with him and only him?? Wouldnโt have made more sense to bring more guys with him in an โambushโ where falcon has got no idea whatโs about to hit him?? The power of friendship saves Ross from killing falcon?? Are we serious right now?
Not saying the avengers or marvel movies were always entirely logical but they had a sense of narrative and somewhat logical to them but this movie progressively gets worse as it goes on again not because of the actors and the cast but because of the script.
