Its been an year since the Release of Kabir singh. Ofcource the original Movie in Teligu released much before and I didnt see any of them untill last week. Its a very late review . Now why the criticism. Its a habit for me to look at the reviews after watching a movie. Bit reverse of what others do. Just to confirm/understand what others felt or experienced while watching it or am I thinking same way as others .....so and so. And when I read the reviews I shocked that all are criticising the movie. The reviewing community, the actors , the common public all hate it and rate it as one of the worst movies in Indian cinema, eventhoug it collected close to 300cr in box office. The words I can see in most of the reviews are misogyny , toxic masculinity,self-sabotaging etc, etc. What I felt Cinema is a medium to tell stories. Not all stories will not be what you like to see. If we see always what we like then where is the thrill. I already know guys who have shades of behaviour like what main protagonist Kabir do in this movie. If we didnt showcase them in the movie that doesn't mean that they dont exist. As viewer I like to see all kind of characters in stories/movies and I enjoyed Kabir Singh from top to bottom. Shahid Kapoor (not any comparison with Vijay as I didnt see the telugu version)done a great job and he completely moved me in all scenes. I felt the pain/agony and feelings the character goes through in the movie. Kabir might not have the perfect character todays youth can copy. But still a movie is not all about copying the characters. Its an art form that make us feel for the characters/places and events. One more scene thats on debate is the herione not reacts while hero kiss her. So shall we say it as, in this story the lady in question here not reacts, it can be of different reason. Thats up to the viewer to decide. Have you felt it like no girl will react to a strange kiss after this movie?. Its the freedom of a writer to decide what characters should do or emote. Ignoring all the hardwork of crew members just criticise/debate something is a work that dont need any effort. Its been a week since I finished watching it and that feeling is still fresh in my mind Thanks to all the crew members for gifting us a wonderful experience.
