Phoenix’s acting was distracting from the story itself and absolutely effortless and terrible. His lack of French accent, lack of Napoleons mannerisms, lack of even a small attempt at playing the role as one of the most famous French men in history is disrespectful. To say the least. I walked away feeling secondhand embarrassment, vowing to never watch another of his movies again. Cinematography was nice.
