I think the movie is a pretty good MONSTER movie but not a very good GODZILLA movie. It really didn't get anything right about the character, the very first ever Godzilla film I watched was Godzilla 2000, then it was this and I for the life of me couldn't understand why there was such a difference, I was young. I waited for an atomic breath scene and never got it just got a air breath with fire off the exploding cars. I think it could've been a great stand-alone film, but considering what I saw from Godzilla, going from 2000 to 1998 wasn't exactly the best way to start out.
