I am starting on the book and all I can say is that I am really fascinated about the depth of his writings on the Civil War. It also delves deep into lives of the generals both Union and Confederate. Shelby Foote is an amazing, brilliant and dazzling historical writer. In addition, I would recommend this book for Civil War enthusiasts and buffs. I am also accompanying my reading with some excerpts from primary and secondary sources.
