A good movie overall and maybe I would give 3.5 stars. The main thing it lacked was believability with the main character and his comeback. You see him fall off the mechanical bull in his yard a few times, he visits an old friend and in three days he's competing and doing well against the best bullriders in the country. The timeline was a bit crunched. Maybe like Rocky, a bit more time to show him getting prepared and retrained.
I thought the movie did have some good aspects. I think a key element was the mending and/or strengthening the relationship between the father and daughter and his final realization of what his career and unseen neck injury did to her life. I thought that was the best element of the movie, along with the relationship with his friend and their reconciliation. I actually thought the best parts were outside of the rodeo rink.
