A good movie overall and maybe I would give 3.5 stars. The main thing it lacked was believability with the main character and his comeback. You see him fall off the mechanical bull in his yard a few times, he visits an old friend and in three days he's competing and doing well against the best bullriders in the country. The timeline was a bit crunched. Maybe like Rocky, a bit more time to show him getting prepared and retrained. I thought the movie did have some good aspects. I think a key element was the mending and/or strengthening the relationship between the father and daughter and his final realization of what his career and unseen neck injury did to her life. I thought that was the best element of the movie, along with the relationship with his friend and their reconciliation. I actually thought the best parts were outside of the rodeo rink.

The show showed promise but has really got stupid. But my wife, son and myself sit and watch it much like the robots on Mystery Science 3000 making fun of it at every turn. So there's that.
