Beautifully done. Colin Farrell is so reliable, as are the policeman's son and his character's sister. Deeply moving. The care Farrell gives to his animals. He is a man so painstakingly distraught from his friend's rejection throughout the film. I see very little humor. Bleak, misunderstood people moving through difficult times on an Irish island, sometimes suffocating in their own blindness, or their way of life. The scenes make you feel as though you are on the island with them. This film is a delight for the big screen. It made an impression on me. Why do people come and go in our lives and it seems meaningless to them, but we (I) live a lifetime of loss.
