No, no & no. If you are passionate about old homes full of original detail and character then do not watch this show because it will be literally painful to watch. Just watched the episode of the over 1-century-old home they called the Capitol house. It was gorgeous... lead glass stained windows, original hardwood floors, pocket doors, ornate columns and what was left of beautiful fireplaces... original moulding everywhere. They. Ripped. Out. EVERYTHING. (Except the staircase thank god). They painted any stained wood that was left, took down walls, took out the hardwoods and all the unique windows, took out even the moulding around the doors and windows and made it look like a house built in 2015. Houses of that era are NOT supposed to be open concept. So upsetting... even the two previous owners seemed a little confused by the result. Painted the house this HORRID purple color. Made the stately exterior look laughable. Disgusting. Leave the century old homes to the REAL preservationists who can restore the timeless HISTORY of these magnificent homes instead of tear the heart and soul out.
