I do like a good detective thriller / drama, but this movie was just beyond anything I have previously watched. If the body count plus blood and gore is your thing, then maybe this is the movie for you. It went way beyond my threshold of blood and gore, and I would not normally rate a movie lowly because of that, Havoc is the exception.
