I felt obliged to see this as a friend took me to the first half having not seen many previous films. The action scenes were impressive and kept the momentum. The problem was the script and plot which take second place. It’s a very templated approach and the central problem to be solved is very simple but made to be more than it is. The is a lot of exposition and scenes where characters complete each others sentences to explain what’s going on. There are way better films like this new and old so question if this adds anything. Tom Cruise on top form as Tom Cruise which is both good to see but zero character profile.

This fits well into the Mad Max saga and hits all the spots. Weakest link for me is Chris Hemsworth while good the character reminded me of Captain Jack. Not a deal breaker at all and still a good performance. Overall well worth a watch.

Actors were great fun but the film failed to live up to the hype for me. Some themes were relevant but confused in the way they came across. I just didn’t find it that funny or any stand out moments. Looked great though!
