The two stars are for some of the talented artists on the show! Season 2 pissed me off more than season 1!! As much as I agree about a few things said about Deborah and her presentation as an artist and I have my own biases about Alexander as an artist and wanted to see him in the finals. However calling out an industry which is predominantly men is quite important, however making your identity just about that is quite problematic and counterproductive and Deborah seems to be over doing it making the show really uncomfortable to watch.
But I think Deborah's frustration was clearly shown to us in SEASON 2 when Chris Taylor a really pretentious and quite annoying contestant remained in the show with very minimum to no talent! A narcissistic white man who thinks anything he creates is radical and thinks we as audience owe him something for his 30 years of experience in the industry, if this is what you create after 30 years of Experience then it proves why he is still competing with people half his age. Sure age is just a number but talent and intuitive nature of an artist cannot be faked, " I am against mixing art with personal life" but "hey look this is an art piece about my dead mom!" All of his fake tears for things that are not even that serious was quite furstrating to sit and watch also "his arrogance" something he seems to be proud of seems like a disgusting trait for any human being to have. Which brings me to the point about judgement and point system of the competition! Why do you have have mission titled cartoons and fashion, then let people like Chris do whatever he wants in the name of "breaking rules" making a broken pencil for a cartoon mission doesnt make it radical rather shows that he cannot take feedback or follow rules of a competition which should be an automatically disqualification, which is how generally reality show works! I can't forgive this show for choosing a terribly executed sock instead of Nao, who didn't do massively better piece but she atleast fit the criteria for the judgment and deserved to be on the third position over Chris. "I don't follow rules" then you don't belong in a competition and it's quite disrespectful for other artist to share a space with a person who thinks like that and get way with it because of judges like Katherine who seems to be delusional with her judgements. Quite upset that a show produced on Toronto, Canada, can't even have bare minimum standards.
