This show is SURPRISINGLY amazing! I didn't know what to expect going in, but I have grown to LOVE this show through the first season! Great writing, wonderful casting, creative and fun animation and action, etc. This show has SO. MUCH. HEART. It subverts your expectations in beautiful, fun ways and has made me ache for this kind of storytelling and heart in the greater MCU, which this is loosely connected to via the multiverse. This is separate from the Sacred Timeline/Universe 616 that we're used to, but that just gives the creative minds in charge of this show a refreshing level of creative freedom! Everyone with even a small appreciation for Spider-Man, or Marvel as a whole, should watch this show! 💜 Edit: To the people hating on this show because it isn't exactly the same as every other origin or adaptation, you really need to grow up. In a multiverse full of literal INFINITE possibilities, some characters will be different than the original comics. Who cares if Dr. Conners is a woman? There was a female Doc Oc in the Spiderverse movies and she was excellent! Why does it matter that the Osbornes are Black? The only thing that matters when adapting a character is keeping the portrayals true to the essence of their characters. And even where this show takes a different path than has been taken before in comics or movies, all that matters is the quality of writing and the way those changes effect the world and characters in it. This show has absolutely EARNED my trust, and I can't wait to see what other changes are made to the stale formula we've seen TOO many times before in Spider-Man adaptations. Open your mind to a new take on Spider-Man (that still ends up feeling like Spider-Man) and this show won't let you down! Well, as of the end of Season 1, that is. Hopefully, this show keeps the quality up in the coming seasons! Again, the minds behind this show have earned my trust so far.
