Absolutely awful. A poorly written attempt at race baiting and virtue signalling. It's ironic that it makes fun of one of the white male characters by making him a "woke ally" that everyone else finds insufferable, while being a movie that does all these things.
The white women in it are all fickle, shallow, and selfish, and the black women are literally only there to be judgemental and say its "our thing"
The humour is written and delivered in such a way that it feels like that gentle, polite humour people have with their direct superior when working in an office. Just jovial enough to maybe earn that promotion.
And the messages on race and gender in it are just terrible. They're hamfisted into the movie without the nuanced backstory that could've actually made people care. Even the good reviews on here only seem to care about the dancing. This gives off serious amateur parody of Bring It On, with a heavy dusting of the later Pitch Perfects.
They use "incognegro" for crying out loud.
