The film was made and also took place in 1945 the year I was born . Both my parents taught in rural one room schools in Upper Michigan, not unlike the Wisconsin small town in the movie. My mother was a real Mrs Johnson, and like one of the students, was a Marguerite. A combination of Scandinavian and French Canadian names in this Wonderfully sentimental film!
