The movie was really suspenseful. It had a good mix of jumpscares and slow intense scares (the type where you have to hold your breath lol.)
Although, I noticed an inconsistency. In the first movie, the monster full on dunks itself underwater and easily swims through it. But in this movie, the monster is underwater for like 5 seconds and it just dies.
I thought the main character was a nice change of pace. You don't often get a "mean" main character. (I legit had to Google her name cuz the characters' names were rarely said for obvious reasons.)

I was very upset when Reuben, the nurse, died. I feel like that monster came out of freaking nowhere. Like, you don't even hear it's footsteps coming before it kills him.
I loved Eric's character, the British guy, I thought he was super sweet. And him getting Sam pizza and labelling it the restaurant she likes was so cute. And him doing the cards trick, AHH so cute. They had a very sweet dynamic.
The cat was so darn cute, I had to hold in my squeal every time it showed up on screen. But I was dreading it's eventual death. BUT THEN! The cat never died!! I think this is the first horror movie I've seen where the animal doesn't die. (Thank God it was a therapy cat, cuz therapy cats don't meow.)
I honestly predicted that Sam would let herself die in the end. Cuz like, the entire movie, her only priorities, were watching a show, and eating pizza. And she fulfilled those goals. So I was like, "yeah, she's gonna sacrifice herself isn't she?" I was a bit upset at first, but I actually became content with it. Since she had nothing else to live for.
Now, in the first Quiet Place, the dad sacrificing himself WAS upsetting because he didn't have a choice in the matter, and he still had so much to live for. While Sam on the other hand, she CHOSE to play the music out loud. She was okay with dying.
Anyway, good movie, loved it. Eric was such a badass for throwing the rock at the car, and for successfully getting Sam's meds. And I loved his arc of pushing through his fear of drowning. Survival really helps with that.
(But really, the best part is the fact that the cat survived. Such a cutie <3)
