I really wanted to like this show, and there are some aspects of it and the premise that are cool. I don’t want to be hateful or offensive to any of the writers, actors, or fans of this show. However, this was, in my opinion, the worst piece of media that I have ever experienced in any medium. The dialogue, while attempting wit and flowery language, is flat, overly expositive, and frankly just hard to listen to. The writing is poorly thought out and has no regard for the Star Wars lore or brand, and the character motivations are mind-numbingly inconsistent. There have been several moments where I’ve stopped the show and tried to figure out what on Earth just happened, only to find that it was impossible. Also, stone and metal just inexplicably catch fire. I don’t understand why Disney couldn’t just use source material such as Darth Tenebrous, Plagueis, Sidious, or even Revan to make a show about this Sith. To end the review on a positive note though! Tales of the Empire was fantastic. Go watch that instead!
